Well, did you watch the Grammy’s last night? I sure did and I surprisingly loved most of the show. I thought the performances were top-notch and was pretty happy with *most* of the winners.
Although, there were some weird issues that I had with the awards…
While I love LL Cool J because he always seems so…well…cool…him as a host just wasn’t doing it for me. Weird.
Funniest moment…
When Ellen and Beyonce introduced Justin Timberlake. HOW FUNNY was that? LOL I actually felt bad for Beyonce, but she rolled with it! :)
As for the winners…
I was surprised that BEST SOLO PERFORMANCE was “Set Fire to the Rain” (Live)/Adele…considering she won 6 awards last year and hasn’t really had anything *new* this year, didn’t think she’d win anything…but congrats to her! :)
How cute was Carrie Underwood when she won BEST COUNTRY SOLO PERFORMANCE with “Blown Away”? She was all choked up! :)
…and again who is Frank Ocean?! LOL
YAY YAY YAY for KELLY CLARKSON winning BEST POP VOCAL ALBUM with Stronger!! And how funny was her speech? LOL LOVE HER!
As for the performances…
Taylor Swift - “We Are Never Getting Back Together” – I’m not normally a Taylor Swift fan, but I do love this song. :) She opened the show with an “Alice and Wonderland” type set up which was pretty cool! :)
fun. - “Carry On” – This song has grown on me, however when they went into the full-blown rain downpour…that was pretty cool! LOL
Mumford and Sons - “I Will Wait” – This song has also grown on me and I’m embarrassed to say that I liked the performance. LOL
Justin Timberlake - “Suit and Tie”/”Pusher Love Girl” - WOOHOO he’s back! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this performance and cannot wait for his new album. If I can’t have an *NSYNC reunion, give me my Mr JT!
Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys - “Daylight”/”Girl on Fire” – This too was an amazing performance. Love Maroon 5 and Alicia…together they were awesome. :)
The Black Keys - “Lonely Boy” – The chief lookin’ guy totally ruined it for me…who was he again? LOL
Kelly Clarkson - “Tennessee Waltz”/”(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” – She’s just amazing! And I totally had a flashback of her singing Natural Woman on American Idol…memories! :)
Tribute to Bob Marley - “Locked Out of Heaven”/”Walking on the Moon”/”Could You Be Loved” – I love Bruno Mars and totally could have done with more of HIM than the tribute.
The Lumineers - “Ho Hey” – Talk about underdogs that are everywhere! LOVE this song…LOVE them. Was happy for them that they were able to do this! :)
Jack White – “Love Interruption”/”Freedom at 21? – He’s totally creepy…NEXT…
Hunter Hayes - “Wanted” – Did this seem weird to anyone else where he just sang out in the middle…and about 2 verses? I do love the song, but prefer it when Dez Duron sings it! :)
Carrie Underwood - “Blown Away”/”Two Black Cadillacs” – THIS was so fascinating! How cool were the special effects for this performance?? SO FUN! :)
Frank Ocean - “Forest Gump” – AGAIN, who is Frank Ocean?! LOL
LL Cool J and Chuck D - “Whaddup” – Did he just perform because he was the host? It was weird and I didn’t even watch all of it. LOL
