My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 movie review
I was SUPER excited for this movie, more than I could even begin to explain. Yes, I did see it a few months back in theaters, but it’s about time for the DVD to come out, so I wanted to review it for those of you that didn’t get a chance to see it in theaters. This is DEFINITELY one of those movies that you HAVE to by the DVD. This is going to be one of those movies that I’ll watch over and over again. The first one was simply amazing and made you feel like you wanted to be apart of the family! The one-liners were awesome, it was literally a laugh-out-loud movie that made you “aww” at the end. :) It’s definitely one that my mom, sister, and I LOVE to watch. The sequel to the first movie is JUST as amazing. There were various moments that I literally was laughing so hard and then something else funny happened and I continued to laugh for a good 5 minutes straight. Just like the firsy one, the one-liners were awesome, it was literally a laugh-out-loud movie that made you “aww” at the end. :)
Nia Vardalos continued to be the writer and leading actress of the Greek Wedding movies as she comes up with original ideas that doesn’t them seem like they’re copying from other movies. This movie tells the story about so many types of relationships while her relatives indulge her father’s boastful claim that he was a direct descendant of Alexander the Great, which leads to an attempt to prove it through an ancestry website, while also finding out that SOMEONE in the family was never married at all! GASP! :) The PG-13 type of humor is very minimal and mostly revolves around one particular outspoken female relative…HELLO Aunt Voula!! :)
It is not simply a rehashing of the goofy characters, but actually a development of all of them. As always, John Corbett’s character, Ian, is definitely one of the stars of the movie even if he isn’t greek! :)
SO good…DEFINITELY see it ASAP!
