Peas In A Pod Polymer Clay Necklace tutorial

I am so happy to share another sweet polymer clay necklace.

It is a Peas In A Pod Necklace.

Head to the craft store or your craft stash.

You will need:

Sculpey Polymer clay in the colors you desire.  I used two different greens that appealed to me.

Split rings

Eye pins

Wire cutters

Something to roll the clay out: clay conditioner, small dowel or an aerosol can in a pinch

Toaster oven

Condition darker green clay by warming and working in your hands or putting it through the clay conditioner.

Roll clay into an egg shape.

Flatten clay egg by running it through the clay conditioner or rolling it out.

Roll out clay to about 1/8 inch thick.

It should be a long thin oval.

Set aside.

Condition and roll balls from the lighter green into pea size balls.

Place the peas in the middle of the darker green pod.

Roll the edges up around the peas.

Squeeze the clay from the ends of the pod into a curl.

Press gently and smooth edges slightly.

Press eye pin into the pod so it goes into the peas as well.

You can add as many peas as you want.

Make one for all the members of your family, you and your BFF, a new mom, etc…

Follow package directions to bake the clay pieces in a toaster oven devoted to craft use.

Once cool, assemble necklace with split rings.

You could also use small alphabet stamps to add names or initials.

You could use it for a keychain instead of a necklace charm.

With help, this is an easy enough craft for children to do.
