Lakeside Marblehead, Ohio review
So my parents and I had some free time on our hands last weekend, so we thought we’d make a trip up to Lakeside Marblehead. It was about an hour and 40 minute drive, but it wasn’t too bad of a trip. We thought that the weather was going to be iffy, however as you can see from my photos that it turned out to be such a beautiful day! Who knew?! Well that’s Ohio for you. LOL When we left, it honestly was super foggy, and the further north we got, the more grey the clouds looked. But when we arrived lakeside, it pretty much opened up and simply was a nice way to enjoy what our state of Ohio does offer us.
I know I say often that there’s not much to do in Ohio, however every now and then you’ll find these types of gems that really are fun to experience in Ohio. I’m not a huge fan of “lakes” per se, and I’m not real outdoorsy, but I don’t mind just sitting there and listening to the sounds of the water. I honestly could just take my Kindle, and probably snack all day by the lake. That sounds fun to me. :)
Because it looked like it was going to storm the closer we got to the lake, the water was pretty rough and it was quite breezy. However that didn’t stop these people from bringing their boats out! There were a TON of boats just cruising around on the lake. It was pretty neat to watch them all. And my mom freaked out at how fast the speedboats were going on the rough waters. :)
Can you see that wayyyyyyyyy…out there? Say hello to Cedar Point. :)
And can you see this island out there? That’s known as Kelly’s Island.
We also stopped at an awesome market on the way up known as Bergman Orchards. They had SOOOO many yummy looking things, especially these GIANT peaches and cantaloupe! :)
I don’t have photos, but we ate at such a delicious pub where I had a Fresh Lake Erie Perch wrap. OH my goodness. Talk about YUMMY! We even bought some perch to fix at home. Cannot wait to dig into it! :) All in all, it was a fun day at Lakeside Marblehead. Always nice to discover new places around your home state!
