Neon Trees – Picture Show album review

Back in February I saw Maroon 5 in concert for the first time, and while I didn’t really touch on the subject, I also saw Owl City and Neon Trees because they were the “opening acts.”  I had heard of both Owl City and Neon Trees, but I didn’t really know much about them.  However I had heard a few of their songs on the radio from them both.  They were amazing opening acts and performers; they really got the crowd involved!  The more I’ve listened to both of them since the concert, the more I’ve become fans of them and their music; specifically Neon Trees.

You all may know of Neon Trees from their song, “Everybody Talks” that plays during a popular Buick commercial. That song first allowed me to become a huge fan of them!  I actually made the song for my ringtone for about a year.  :)  However, that song isn’t even the tip of the iceberg for them concerning their talent.

Neon Trees is an American alternative rock band from Provo, Utah.  The band was formed initially by neighbors Tyler Glenn and Chris Allen, eventually adding Branden Campbell, Elaine Bradley, and David Charles.  I would describe their music as something that can make you move and sing along.  Their songs are very 80s-ish (which isn’t a bad thing in my opinion).

Neon Trees

Their latest album, Picture Show, has quickly become my FAVORITE album.

It has hits like “Everybody Talks” and “Lessons In Love.”  However, my favorite song on the album is “Close To You.”  The album debuted at number 77 in Canada and number 17 in the United States.

The full album track list includes:

  • Moving in the Dark
  • Teenage Sounds
  • Everybody Talks
  • Mad Love
  • Weekend
  • Lessons in Love (All Day, All Night) – featuring Kaskade
  • Trust
  • Close to You
  • Hooray for Hollywood
  • Still Young
  • I Am the D.J.

I would HIGHLY recommend you check out Neon Trees, because they deserve it and I don’t think you’ll be sorry you did!  And when you do, please tell others about them!  :)  They deserve more publicity!!
