Parenthood tv show review

Parenthood tv show review

OK, so it’s been three weeks since the season finale of Parenthood.  And I’m missing it terribly!  I LOVE me some Bravermans and I need them back on my TV, ASAP!  I’ve watched every episode ever since it first launched in 2010.

Parenthood is a comedy-drama television series developed by Jason Katims who also produced the amazing show, Friday Night Lights!  The show is also loosely based on the 1989 film of the same title, Parenthood – however, I have not seen it.  Again, the show revolves around the Braverman family, which has expanded to three generations.

If you have been living under a rock the last three years or haven’t not watched Parenthood, then you have NO idea what you’re missing.  The acting is top-notch, the stories are real, and characters are compelling allowing the show to be a positive, uplifting family-friendly drama!  Every episode sucks you in because you actually can feel like you are apart of their family!  While they all may have their quirks, in the end, they love each other and are together – no matter what happens.  They touch on serious subjects such as divorce, single parents, adoption, abortion, cancer, asperger syndrome, applying to college, etc.  But again, it’s REAL.  They don’t sugar coat anything because they want you to think about how you would approach the issue had it of happened to you.

This show has not been renewed for a Season 5, however I have every ounce of hope that NBC won’t let this show go away.  It needs to be publicized more as well as switched to a different time slot so MORE families can sit down together and watch issues that they may be discussing within their own lives.

Do you watch Parenthood?  If so, what do you think??
