Classic Veggie Salsa with the Vitamix

Who doesn’t love a good, fresh, homemade salsa?  This Classic Veggie Salsa with the Vitamix recipe that my family and I have been making for years and this is the first year we allowed the Vitamix to do all the work.  :)  Yep, that’s right…forget all that chopping and knife skills because you should just let that genius machine do all the work!  It sure does save a lot of time for recipes like this!  Now grab some chips and enjoy!  :)

Classic Veggie Salsa with the Vitamix

  • 7 c tomatoes, cored and chopped
  • 2 c onion, chopped
  • 1 c green bell pepper, chopped
  • 8 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped (seeded is optional)
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 3/4 c white vinegar
  • 1/2 c loosely packed cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin



Allow the Vitamix to help you chop tomatoes, just be sure to cut them in chunks and core them.


Hand chop the rest of the veggies.


In a large saucepan combine all prepared ingredients; bring to a boil over medium-high heat (stir constantly).


Once boiling, reduce heat and boil gently until thickened (about 30 mins); do stir often.


Once thickened, continue with the canning method that you are most comfortable with.
