Gravity movie review
Last week Gravity finally came on DVD, so it was available on DirecTV. I had really wanted to see it in theaters, just didn’t know how much “motion” and visual effects it would be; so I opted out of it. My family and I sat down to watch this very much talked about movie that just happened to win all kinds of stunning awards at the Oscars; and frankly they were well deserved.
It’s about a doctor named Ryan Stone (played by Sandra Bullock) who is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (played by George Clooney). Clooney’s character was actually on his last flight before retiring.
However, the mission that was supposed to be a seemingly routine spacewalk, turned out to be not so routine-like.
I knew the basics of the movie, but didn’t know how thriller-like it was going to be. Without giving too much away, it’s very much like the movie Payphone whereas there’s not a while lot of cast or budget, but it keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I’ve always been a huge Bullock fan, but this movie really showed her vulnerability. I would definitely recommend seeing this movie if you can handle the camera motions on the small screen. :)
